熾熱棒燃燒試驗儀主要用途：適用于用熾熱棒進行塑料燃燒和增強纖維燃燒性能試驗的測定。

熾熱棒燃燒試驗儀試驗原理：用一根直徑8mm 長度100mm且溫度為950-960℃的熾熱棒（碳化硅）作為點火源，使其與試樣的端面接觸3min，而后把持熱棒轉離試樣，在熾熱棒與試樣接觸時開始，觀察并紀錄試樣的燃燒行為，并按其燃燒的狀況，對試樣的燃燒性能進行判定。可供塑料工業、檢驗部門和科研單位使用。

加熱熾熱棒使溫度恒定在955攝氏度下，轉動絕級支架使熾熱棒于式樣接觸，用秒表開始計時3分鐘時，將熾熱棒轉離，并立即熄滅火焰。同時用秒測量*次火焰出現至火焰熄滅的燃燒時間，精確到1秒。
